Angharad - the Lady of the Lake

The Lady of the Lake

The Lady of the Lake

Edit

Appearance

The Lady of the Lake appears as a woman dressed in white samite. She can often be found near a body of fresh water.

She is tall, slim and willowy. Her hair is richly golden, like summer honey, and her eyes are blue and tranquil. Her skin is fair, but warm and delicately coloured.

She doesn't appear to use any weapons, and she carries something that appears to be a copper chalice. Her raiment is pinned by an amber brooch in the shape of two crossed swords, and belted by a chain of silver links.

Special Abilities

The Lady of the Lake will never be harmed by swords of any sort. Things that are called swords but aren’t may harm her.

She has been known to offer a sword as a gift to those she likes and she has one that will be of use to them.

She will answer one question freely to any entity with a soul. Any more questions must be paid for with a Twilight Point. When an Age passes, another question may be asked of her without acquiring a Twilight Point. Her answer is either true, or not a question she can answer, in which case any penalties that may have been incurred are ignored.

She either travels directly to lakes and like waterways, or she knows where she is needed and makes her way non-magically to such places.

Character

Angharad is bound in some way (which she will not reveal) to provide the answers to questions that may be put to her by any entity with a soul. There are some questions that she will not answer, even if she can, however, and these are outside of the nature of the binding laid upon her.

She appears to be a woman of gentleness, and although she often attends great battles, she rarely takes an active hand.

She appears to hold ideals which are somewhat more elevated than most, even a little more abstract than usual. She is, however, amused by the antics of mischievous entities, so long as they aren't actively evil. Her reactions to those entities who are commitedly evil aren't known.
