Appearance

The traveler's shadowy and massive form fills the doorway. His great dark grey cloak obscures in its depths his huge chest gauntleted hands and pillar'd legs. Beneath his great dark grey cloak something rustles and moves. Small inhuman, alien jointed limbs click and clatter against something solid in the dark folds of his cloak. Hidden mouths drink in the scents and taste of life and shiver with unnatural ravenous hunger. Your eyes drift up to the grey helm, lower half veiled in dark silk. Your stare is drawn to the eyes beneath the iron slits. Those endless pools, sometimes dark, sometimes luminous, but always focused, reflect back forgotten and strange lands twisted through...angles and paths both unseen and untrodden by mortal man. From the traveler a painful, inhumanly deep voice swells to a tide in your chest.

"ENDGAME HAS COME FOR YOU!"

Two head sized, spider like drops of inkiest night leap from the travelers shadowy heart to the floor and with dark malice fix their hungry eyes on you. A broadsword appearing from some unseen shadowy scar slides all too comfortably into the strangers powerful right hand. Blue lightning crackles and plays across the blade filling the room with the warning smell of ozone. Your nape hairs rise in sympathy.

Before you the air PULSES with energy and the traveller, this Walker In Shadow, covers the dozens of paces you foolishly believed your ally in one single, unbelievable step. His enormous frame's sudden, violent imposition on your paralysed ego nails you to your corner. That terrible head with dreaded inevitability slowly tilts down at your trembling powerless frame.

An ugly seam appears down the vertical middle of the Walker's... mask. With a faint hiss the helm opens untouched slowly outwards. The silk muzzle drops away. You want to look away but somehow his irresistable mailed hand now holds your head enslaved to its deathly grip. Your now panicking orbs tear at their sockets in a final attempt to escape. But their last rebellion is without hope. Now, when finally his visage unshadowed reveals his mockery of a face, your mind can only scream. There is no reprieve, no relief. Now there is only drooling, unfettered, MADNESS!

Base of Operations

The Path of Endgame, an extradimensional pathway that links Endgame with members of the Endgame Connection. Endgame is always travelling.

Secondary Titles

The Drawer of Doom

The Opener of Pockets

Transport

Endgame can walk to any place he can imagine, provided he has sufficient power.

Character

There is much debate over Endgame's morality. He uses weapons and skills associated with deplorable professions, appears to be well on his way to becoming a fully fledged horror, and naturally walks in and perceives dimensions that drive others mad. His visage is so ghastly as to have driven fellow immortals mad. He has had amorous liaisons with (and survived quite happily) Mrs Fang, and there is a rumour of some connection to a great female spider like entity of elemental hunger. He perceives unlight with little effort and is capable of manipulating it.

Conversely all his (recorded) enemies to date have been of the "evil" or at least questionable morality variety. He apparently protects humans often at significant personal risk, from harm. His own faction, the Endgame Connection, admits no evil members. He possesses the strength of ten, one of very few immortals who can claim the ability (which relies entirely on the purity of the heart). He has on more than one occasion raised fellow adventurers to immortality at no cost. His only requirement to date has been that they do likewise. Indeed it he has even come to their aid when there has been no apparent benefit to himself.

Of course this might all be just some horrible ruse. And what about that connection to the great spider like being of elemental hunger? His titles seem tailor made for bringing in something from outside the known realms. Can he be trusted?

There is indeed much debate over Endgame's morality.

Special Abilities

As already mentioned, Endgame can "walk" to any place he can imagine. He can also take others with him. Endgame has at times been contracted to create middlemarches for other immortals. It is unknown which beings he has done this for, or indeed the locations of these middlemarches. Endgame does not speak on it.

A number of artifacts in The Walkers possession have enabled him to engage armies personally.

Endgame makes an invaluable addition to even high level immortal raids. His ability to go almost anywhere... with entourage, to encircle and fix large numbers of opponents, and to create bolt holes in a pinch make for an unpredictable and potent threat with an unmatched ability to flank, evade or re-deploy. He is more limited when avoidance of collatoral damage is a factor, although this limitation is of course one of conscience only.

Agents

It is unclear whether the Sisters of Hunger that (apparently) serve him in its multiple forms are Agents. No-one asks him questions about it.
