Immortals

Malkuth is a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has fled into huge underground complexes, called bunkers. It may be accessed from a nexus in a shopping mall in Gotham on New Terra. One must, apparently, walk around the shopping mall nine times, widdershins.

The surface is ravaged by a sentient disease known as 'Legion'. Each of the bunkers are set out as if they are the positions of a clock, the bunker at seven o'clock being called 'Cenotaph', since no one lives there any more. A testament to Legion's virulence. The bunker at twelve o'clock is called 'the Tomb of Midnight'.

Magic use is unknown and gets people remarked, although not arrested in and of itself. Hosing down a shopping complex with Dragonflames, however, would see the caster dragged away to the recycling tanks, and there would be precious little discussion about it.

Travel between bunkers is hazardous in the extreme, and only a few attempt it. A small group of people, called marauders for some reason, ply such trade routes as exist between the bunkers. They are extremely hardy people who have a profound knowledge of the scarred surface above.

Central to the existence of the marauder is the care and attention they put into their "biohazard suits". This is a sealed, filtered environment in which the marauder lives while on the surface. Each suit has, over the years, been customised to the needs of its wearer, and so is very good armour.

Notable people who live here are Mark, Death's Champion. His House is in Cenotaph. He has not been seen for several millenia. Chthon, the Lord of the Dark Earth, maintains a grim presence deep below Bunker Four. Finally, Grimes, the Lord of Similarities, who was based in Bunker Four, has built a new House in Bunker One. Or the Tomb of Midnight. It's hard to say.
