Investigated Lomar. Found various letters to the cardinal. He was obviously using several different names. Most interesting letter said something like:

' Update on progress of the plan to "plant the godseed" ' - it had collection and letter residue

Found that the temperature was maintained via the main towers. These were generating power using the sun and then regulating the temperature. Setup a joint house and lowered the temperature settings from 18degrees to 12degrees. This frees up 72pts of power over 1 year. Will leave it at this temperature until we have enough power or can make more towers etc.

Bastion and Joachim initiated to allow them to adjust the tower temperature.

After initiating etc, we noticed 3 cranes fly to the city, circle and then fly off. We gave chase, ended up in a cove to the south west.

A ship was laid up off-shore, and a pavilion set up in the cove. There were several big looking guards, standing beside piles of what we took to be logs. After waiting for dark, Bezalel snuck down, into the pavilion, where he saw a older looking asian cutting unrolling the logs and cutting off sections, which he would then fold (origami) and transform into living things. The first he made was a bird of some kind that he sent off to the south. The second was a tiger, which then set to guarding him.

A plan was hatched, and Bezalel snuck back into the pavilion and from there into the inner sanctum/bedchamber. The target was sleeping very stiffly on a set of pillows (all of which were made from skin, and had eyes looking out from them). After distracting the tiger and sneaking in, Bezalel carefully snuck up and plunged his sword through his helpless (yeah, right) victim. (We later learned that his name is Shiro Ishii.)

This did not elicit the expected response (or worse, perhaps, it did), as Shiro complained somewhat and proceded to get up. It was noted however, that he seemed to fold/crumple around the impact point and this absorbed a fair amount of the damage. After this, Bezalel had time to hit him again (which he did) before having to defend himself from the tiger. A short couple of rounds of to-and-fro later, Bastion arrived, knocking down sections of the pavilion as he came. The tiger attacked Bastions horse, and while it did inflict a fair wound, it was quickly dispatched.

While this happened, Shiro fled through a pavilion wall (he reached up and it parted for him, screaming all the while). Bastion and Bezalel then headed back out to link up with Joachim. Joachim saw Shiro fleeing towards the ship (which at this point was walking up the shore on soem crocodile-like legs), so he promply threw a razor-orb.

Being of a cowardly and generally evil, bent, Shiro held up one of his geisha's in the orbs path, thus dooming her to be splattered all over the beach. This however did not completely stop the orb, and it sliced through the geisha and did serious damage to the his arm. This seemed to take down the his forcefield (or the effect he had that was similar). Shiro then looked at Joachim and caused his eye to fold in on itself!, effectively taking him out of the fight.

Bezalel and Bastion had, by this time, exited the tent. Bezalel headed towards the escaping foe, while Bastion broke the other way to deal with the big, tanky-looking guards. The guards were obviously unfamiliar with mounted combat as they were promptly mowed down. Bezalal meanwhile was running down the beach to attack. He was spotted however, and afflicted with a very nasty version of scarlet fever, thus taking him out of the action.

Bastion was not deterred however, and he charged after Shiro, who had by this time reached his ship. His ship lowered its foreleg and a flight of steps unfolded from the side. Just as Bastion reached the stairs, they began to fold back up, so he heroically lept onto the ships foredeck instead, where he tried to deal to Shiro, somewhat effectively at first, until he too was driven off as the enemy fled.

The tent turned out to be made of woven nerve fibres, and had 70 torture points in it. The rolls of skin were made from people who had been killed and their deaths had been trapped - it also contained torture points - 78pts.

Notes

Edit

Shiro Ishii

Shiro Ishii seems to be the local architect at this stage, tho in all likelyhood he is another rung in the ladder. He obviously has folding as one of his powers.

He has been invited to go and work for the 'Lysenko institute' in Russia. As far as we know, he has been experimenting on mortals for some time.

His combat strategies seem to be based around some quite powerful spells. Usually curses / diseases (scarlet fever , folding eyes) he also had a couple of other spells that were used on Bastion (20odd points of damage)... Edit

Lomar

City that was built by the Lomar people. It was overrun by the Inuto 'gods' much later on. The Lomar were an advanced culture that existed about the same time as the Illithids, but, due to their defenses were able to keep them at bay.
