After a little discussion, we again decided not to pursue Shiro, as we assumed that he would still be wary of us heading his way. Instead we decided to check out the bloodwolves - hoping (foolishly) for easier prey.

We set off northward, along the Nile from the Marian Isle (where Qasimir lives), and stayed in Al-kahera (Cairo). They trade in the Mediterranean - import food etc from up-nile and precious metals and the like from offshore. They also have a strong trade in papyrus.

Caught a ship to Sygeia, the tower has gone and there is a hole there - no one notices as this is a 'stealth' hole - will have to investigate the hole.

Headed north and west. Ran across some mountain ranges - passed through one, and when we got to the next we heard rumours of a 'dragon' in them there mountains. We think these might be the Carpathian mountains.

Checked this out. Turned out that the church had spread the rumour and we determined that there is a 'potential' there that they don't want people to name (presumably because it will become more 'real').

Local Bishop is an idiot, but has a nefarious looking fellow with him. Puppet-master?

Crossed mountains to small town with a church located outside the town. Church was walled. Bloodwolves attacked about 5 years back. Slaughtered about 300 people at the mayors mansion (ruins at other side of town).

Brother Michael is the only church person there - useless with swords. Has been practicing. The previous priest there had been wounded by a particularly nasty sounding bloodwolf and Michael killed him as he was turning.

Not having any other way to find the bloodwolf, we fell back on Brother Michaels plan and lurked about in the forest, making as much noise as possible without being too suspicious. While doing so we came across an old ruin overgrow with ivy. Inside it was warded up the wazoo, but whatever was there had escaped. The traps that had been set were very well built, but had decayed over the years and fallen apart. A opened sarcophagus was in the middle of the room. The lid had a sculpture of a large human with a shield defending against some sort of Centauroid wolf (which looks remarkably like the wolf that Brother Michael had seen).

Joachim summoned Nimrod the hunter who began to track the wolf down, using the scent and evidence in the ruin. It was headed back into the mountains, so we suited up and went after it. Its trail led to a castle at the end of what may once have been a road, high in the mountains. All very reminiscent of Dracula. Perhaps a new Lord of Blood?
