Set
EditAppearance
Set is a small, slim man, with a pronounced widow's peak. His hair is short, cropped close to the skull, and sleek. His eyes are dull, but alert. Accounts disagree on colour. He wears no armour, usually, but has been known to wear some sort of supple mail.
He is known to employ a staff which is crowned with the head of a cobra. Sometimes, he uses a whip with a forked tail. Other weapons he has been rumoured to possess are a scorpion (mla), and an adder's tongue.

He can Devour.
He has some means of avoiding the rule of six in the Abyss.
EditCharacter
Set takes the long view, in general, and has little use for mortals, or young Immortals. Those that present themselves to him had better have something very useful to offer him, or he will devour them and assume their abilities.
He respects power, in fact he thirsts for it, and won't engage an enemy he doesn't think he can beat. On the other hand, he suffers from overconfidence and may overcommit himself.
His single greatest strength is patience. Like an aged and coiled serpent, Set will wait as the Ages pass until the situation changes to one he believes gives him the upper hand, and strikes rapidly. Speed of attack usually leaves him unable to defend against a clever counterthrust, however. Set's love affair with blitzkrieg style warfare can leave him unable to deal with commando style attacks against his lines of communication, materiel and transport, or a powerful defence.
EditAgents
The Lord of Serpents agents are known as Basilisks. They are usually smallish men with an unusual mark on their forehead. It is in the shape of a three pointed crown. They are profoundly poisonous, so that any melee strike delivered against them will poison the attacker. More powerful Basilisks may deliver their poison through ranged attacks.
All have gaze weapons, though most do little more than weaken their target, or render them nauseous, etc.
Most Basilisks can shapechange into some sort of venomous snake, but some assume the form of large constrictor snakes. A few, rare Basilisks may make partial transformations into humanoid creatures with snakes for arms, etc.
They are usually highly skilled combatants, specialising in hand to hand attacks. They are fast and much more resilient than they appear and they are assassins of profound ability. They have wilderness skills in deserts.
All Basilisks can create an area of Trackless Waste. The ground is poisoned and rendered barren, and becomes extremely difficult to leave or find one's way through. Tracks vanish very quickly, and living things tend to wander around in it till they perish of dehydration.
Lastly, they are all spies, and some are spymasters.
