Events

Having escaped from Haddrens wall, we decided to find out a bit more about our Death Knight friend and his lot. Apis was able to locate Lime Rain and bring her to us. When asked about the Pyramid and the Death Knight etc she/it/whatever caused Apis to cry some tears which when tasted showed a sequence of events. After a bit of review, we decided on the order they are listed in below.

1) The first scene showed the Mage that was with the Death Knight turn up at Zuggurat and talk to some church people there, negotiating his skills for something they had.

2) The second scene showed a number of slaves/workmen begging the construction of the stealth pyramid using blood soaked string to mark out the foundations. The bird-things we encountered previously were overseeing the slaves with whips etc.

3) The last scene showed the Molec altar (30' bronze golem) walking out of the sea onto a rocky beach. A little while later it showed him turn up at the pyramid, greeted by some robed figures.

Many theories were bandied about, but without more evidence we were unable to come to a definite conclusion. Instead we decided to get back there and try to rid the world of the Death Knight - for altruistic reasons, not simply because he beat us up and we want revenge, no...no..

Not knowing the Abyss well, or the Astral for that matter we headed up out of the Abyss onto a nearby plane. There seemed to be some sort of biosphere there as there were rivers, terrain and plant and animal life. While investigating a river, Joachim was attacked by a Intellect devourer which was rude enough to invite all its buddies along. A huge swarm of them emerged and we beat a hasty withdrawal. Once safely away I turned Joachim into a skeleton, forcing the devourer out - which was promptly eaten by Apis who, by this time, had come to savour their taste.

Wanting to get home sooner rather than later, we skirted the edge of the plane along convenient ridge-lines, hoping to see any other planes about as we knew this was not our home plane. While traversing a valley we were attacked by a Storm Bull. Eliakim and Joachim dispatched with it with little trouble. Once killed it released the storm that was trapped inside the beast and so Apis was set upon it, eating a fair portion of the storm. I then used Sea Breeze to summon the rest of the storm - which turned out to be sentient, and so an agent was born.

Moving on we came to a road with a large gate on it. After some investigation we found that the gate anchors the plane to the abyss/astral and the plane was called 'The Reich'. Not a pleasant name. We did a quick recon and found there were many houses off the sides of the road as it moved further into the plane. Each house also had a letterbox. The houses we saw are detailed below (starting on the left side of the road at what I call #1, so all odd numbered houses are on the left, evens on the right).

1) A Glass house with a small dolls house inside it. The dolls house is the same shape and proportions as the glass house. It has a slate roof, and a black and white facade.

2) A cobalt blue column.

3) A bungalow with a number of terraces leading to the road. The terraces are orange-wedge shaped.

4) The post office.

Not liking the name of the plane, or the fact that there was a post office which rung alarm bells due to a letter we had found after killing the last lich (it had the remenants of collection and letter points in it), we slunk off, back towards the abyss. We followed the road further and further into the abyss until we came to a cross-roads. Apis noticed there was some sort of Demon ward on the road.

Taking the left turn, we continued on until we came to another plane which we identified as our home plane. The gate told us its name is 'Nualis'. We saw a couple of houses off the road here, one a bright red house and the other a house that looked like an orary. Not wishing to disturb anyone (or thing) we headed to Eliakim and Joachims' house 'Wormwood'/'Wyrmwood'?.

We met up with the Count de Versiliac? and swapped stories and essences. He told us that the Death Knight we faced was of the line of Mordred and that his name is Sir Maghodere and that Death Knights are particularly susceptable to the weapons that killed them. Joachim did some research and found that he had been killed by a poisoned crossbow (anti-coagulent).

While Eliakim initiated, I left and built a house in Lisbin, brining in some agents to start things off. Once this was done we regrouped and decided to do a quick spot of witch hunting. We'd heard rumours that the Book of Shadows (names all witches) was in Florence so we headed there thinking that it would be a beacon for said witches and we'd find plenty about. Unfortunately, the Book is in a private library and anything remotely considered a witch was already dead - often before it could be accused.

All was not lost however, as I found a nice profitable "Caravan to the East" in which I invested which makes a nice tidy profit.
